While the NFL world braces for Travis Kelce’s farewell, one man inside the Chiefs locker room is refusing to accept it.
Defensive star Chris Jones has delivered a bombshell verdict on his teammate’s future — insisting the 36-year-old tight end will be back for at least one more season.
“I’m not buying it,” Jones said firmly after Kansas City’s disastrous six-game skid ended their year. “He’ll be back next year. This was a tricky season for us, but I’ve got faith in my dog.”
And it’s not blind loyalty.
Despite the Chiefs collapsing out of playoff contention, Kelce still delivered 851 yards, five touchdowns and became just the third tight end in NFL history to pass 13,000 career receiving yards.
Jones fondly recalled meeting Kelce in 2016, describing a player who “caught everything, danced to everything, and brought fire to the room every single day.”
“I just pray this isn’t my dog’s last time,” he admitted.
Head coach Andy Reid, however, struck a more cautious tone: “We’ll just see where it goes.”
Kelce himself remains undecided, saying he needs time with family before choosing whether to return — all while quietly planning a reported June 13 wedding to Taylor Swift in Rhode Island.
But if Chris Jones is right… Chiefs Kingdom may not be saying goodbye just yet.
