Gemma Atkinson Opens Up About Third Baby With Gorka Márquez — When Love Feels Complete

Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Márquez have never pretended their relationship is picture-perfect — and that honesty is exactly why fans love them.

The Strictly Come Dancing couple, who met in 2017 and got engaged in 2021, already share a lively household with daughter Mia, six, son Thiago, two, and their dog Benji. Life is busy, noisy and full — but recent conversations suggest their future family plans may not be quite as aligned as fans might expect.

Speaking candidly on their podcast Lost In Translation, Gemma, 41, admitted she’s been feeling broody following Thiago’s two-year health check — a moment that stirred unexpected emotions.

“It does make you think… a third would be nice,” she said gently.

Gorka, 35, however, didn’t hesitate with his response.

“No,” he replied firmly — making it clear he believes their family already feels complete.

The couple laughed as they debated whether adding another baby would enhance their “organised chaos” or tip their already demanding lives into overload. Gemma even floated alternatives — joking she’d happily adopt another dog rather than go through pregnancy again.

But Gorka teased that her feelings aren’t always consistent.

“One month you want another baby, then the next you want me to have the snip,” he joked, calling out her mixed signals.

Gemma blamed the emotional swings on perimenopause — and didn’t rule out a vasectomy being the “best option,” prompting more laughter between them.

Beyond baby talk, the couple also revealed they’re still undecided about their long-awaited wedding. With family roots in both England and Spain, they’re torn over where to say “I do,” wanting the day to reflect both sides of their lives.

Yet one deeply personal reason continues to give Gemma pause — her surname.

In a moving Father’s Day letter to her late dad, she explained why marriage feels emotionally complicated.

“I’m getting married, Dad! One day, anyway,” she wrote.
“I think one reason we’ve not done it yet is because of you. I’m the last Atkinson — if I give up my name, there’ll be no more of us.”

It’s a quiet but powerful admission — one rooted in love, legacy and loss.

For now, Gemma and Gorka remain united where it matters most: raising their children, navigating life honestly, and allowing space for uncertainty. Whether or not baby number three ever arrives, their next chapter is clearly being written with care — and heart.
