For many families, Christmas Eve is a time for wrapping presents and pouring the first festive drink. But for Nadia Sawalha, it unfolded very differently.
The Loose Women star revealed on December 24 that she had “stormed out” of the home she shares with husband Mark Adderley following what she described as a massive row — one so heated it left her wandering the freezing streets, still without a cup of tea.
“I screamed in front of the kids”
In an emotional Instagram video, Nadia admitted that the argument spilled over in front of their daughters, Maddie, 22, and Kiki, 17.
“I’m having the most [bleep] Christmas Eve,” she said.
“I had a massive row with Mark, screamed in front of the kids, stormed out, smashed the door shut — and the bloody Ring doorbell fell off.”
She went on to explain that the broken doorbell meant she was now anxiously waiting outside, knowing important parcels might not be delivered.
“So now I’m wandering round the streets to make my point in the freezing cold,” she added, before issuing a defiant warning to viewers:
“Nobody say, nobody even think of saying it’s my fault.”
A festive caption with a sharp edge
Alongside the clip, Nadia wrote with her trademark dark humour:
“Don’t forget folks it’s the most wonderful time of the blumming year… How’s it for you so flaming far? PS it’s your fault @mark_adderley.”
At the time of posting, Mark had not responded publicly.
Fans rush in with support
Despite the chaos, Nadia’s followers rallied around her, sharing their own stories of winter walk-outs and urging her to head home.
“Don’t hold a grudge — go back and have a hug. Life is too short,” one wrote.
Another admitted: “I’ve stormed out in the freezing cold too… and then had to keep walking because once you’ve left, you have to commit!”
“Yes, we argue sometimes”
Earlier this week, Nadia had already spoken candidly on Loose Women about a recent clash with Mark that led her to block him on WhatsApp — something she jokingly described as “digital silence.”
“We were so stressed with everything going on,” she explained. “The argument was actually very silly, but it just kept blowing and blowing.”
Eventually, she said, she unblocked him and tried to reset the conversation:
“Should we just forget what we’re arguing about? We’re stressed. I love you, you love me — let’s just stop.”
Hoping for a Christmas truce
As Christmas Day arrives, fans are hoping that Nadia and Mark manage to find their way back to that same place — where stress gives way to hugs, and even the messiest moments can be forgiven.
Because sometimes, the most honest part of the festive season isn’t the sparkle — it’s remembering how to find each other again when everything feels like it’s falling apart. 💞
