Just weeks earlier, Mahomes tore his ACL during the Chiefs’ crushing loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, a defeat that officially ended their playoff hopes. Surgery followed on December 15, launching the toughest rehab journey of his career.

Yet despite the heartbreak, teammates say the leader never left the building.
