Influencer and businesswoman Lorna Luxe, 43, has shared a heartbreaking update about her husband John Andrews, revealing he is now “extremely unwell” as his terminal cancer progresses — forcing her to cancel a long-planned charity event at the very last moment.
Taking to Instagram, Lorna told her 1.6 million followers she was “so sorry” to postpone the event, explaining that she can no longer be away from John’s side during this critical stage of his illness. The charity sale, organised by her fashion brand LA-SPACE, had been due to take place this Saturday at The Alan Hotel in Manchester, raising funds for Maggie’s Cancer Care and The Meath Epilepsy Charity.
A Decision Made With a Heavy Heart
In an emotional statement shared with fans, Lorna wrote:
“It is with a very heavy heart that I have to share that we must unfortunately postpone our upcoming Charity Sale this Saturday.
John is currently extremely unwell, and right now it isn’t the right time for me to be away from his side. This has been an incredibly difficult decision, but I know it’s the right thing to do.”
She later confirmed that while the event itself has been cancelled, all ticket sales will still be donated to the charities. Tickets will remain valid for a rescheduled date, with refunds available for those unable to attend in future.
Overlaying the announcement, Lorna added simply: “I am so sorry.”
A Long and Relentless Battle
John, who is 21 years older than Lorna, has been battling stage four adrenal cancer since his diagnosis in April 2023. Last month, Lorna revealed that his cancer had spread further and that treatment was no longer an option.
The couple have been open about the brutal reality of his illness. After briefly going into remission in November 2023, John’s cancer tragically returned in May 2024 and later spread to his brain. In the weeks before Christmas, he was rushed to hospital with organ failure and sepsis following complications from chemotherapy — a moment Lorna described as terrifying.
Yet she has repeatedly referred to him as a fighter.
Facing the Unthinkable
In recent interviews, Lorna has spoken candidly about the emotional toll of confronting the possibility of becoming a widow in her 40s, admitting it is “a scary place to be.” She revealed doctors had told her to “prepare for the worst,” though John defied expectations and managed to return home in time for Christmas.
The couple, who live together in their £2.5 million Warwickshire home, have chosen to focus on making memories rather than long-term plans. Lorna has previously shared that John has encouraged her to ensure everything is financially in order — while stressing that they are not discussing funerals.
