Against the odds. Against medical statistics. Against months of fear and heartbreak.
Peggy Rose has shared the most emotional news of her life — revealing she is pregnant, after doctors told her she had just a one per cent chance of conceiving.
For the Married At First Sight UK star, 33, the announcement marks the end of one of the most gruelling chapters she has ever faced — and the beginning of something she once feared might never happen.
💔 From Devastation to a Tiny Heartbeat
Peggy revealed the news in a deeply personal Instagram post, telling followers she had finally received a positive pregnancy test — followed by a scan showing what she described as a “tiny little heartbeat.”
Alongside a touching video of Peggy and her partner wearing matching caps reading “Mum” and “Dad” as they shared a kiss, she wrote:
“I’m so sorry I’ve been a little quiet — it’s been the most overwhelming, emotional, beautiful few days since testing.”
The post instantly flooded with messages of love, disbelief and gratitude from followers who had been walking the IVF journey alongside her.
💬 “It Only Took One Little Egg”
In one of the most powerful lines of her announcement, Peggy addressed those who had supported her during her darkest moments:
“But… you were all right. It only took one little egg! If you’re on this journey right now, I hope this gives you hope and inspiration not to give up and to stay ‘positive’ (excuse the pun).”
It was a line that stopped people scrolling — because just weeks earlier, that “one little egg” was all she had.
⚠️ ‘Still Very Early Days’
Peggy was open about the fears that remain.
She admitted many advised her to wait until the traditional 12-week mark before sharing the news, revealing she was “a little superstitious” herself.
“If I was doing this naturally or IVF but not broadcasting on socials, I wouldn’t be announcing it so soon either,” she explained.
“But I promised from the very beginning that I would be open and transparent about this journey — and that’s exactly what I’ll continue to do.”
She added that she and her partner are now taking things one day at a time, praying that each scan continues to show a healthy heartbeat.
“If sharing this helps even one person feel less alone, then it’s worth it. Sharing is caring.”
💉 From 1% Chance to Positive Test
Just two weeks ago, Peggy shared devastating news with fans — revealing doctors had told her she had only a one per cent chance of conceiving after a major IVF setback.
She explained that after entering hospital with eight promising follicles, doctors were only able to retrieve one single egg — and they couldn’t even confirm whether it was mature.
“One egg… one egg,” she wrote at the time.
“And they couldn’t confirm if it’s mature. That was really hard to process.”
The moment left her questioning whether sharing her fertility journey publicly had been a mistake — but she ultimately chose honesty over silence.
“I promised to share both the highs and the lows — so here is the raw truth.”
🩺 ‘The Unknown Is the Hardest Part’
Peggy later revealed the physical procedure itself was straightforward — but the emotional toll was crushing.
“The surgery was absolutely fine — in and out in about 20 minutes. I was sedated, didn’t feel a thing, and only needed paracetamol afterwards.”
What followed was far harder.
She returned home exhausted, emotionally drained, and clinging to hope that the single egg would mature and fertilise.
“One egg — I think we only had a 1–3% chance. But we stayed hopeful.”
That hope, it seems, changed everything.
🌱 A Journey Years in the Making
Peggy first rose to fame on Married At First Sight UK in 2023, where she was paired with Georges Berthonneau. The couple split shortly after filming, with Peggy later admitting the sudden fame put immense strain on the relationship.
In 2024, she bravely opened up about her fertility fears, revealing she had not had a menstrual cycle for five years due to stress-related secondary hypothalamic amenorrhea.
“I want to find someone who wants kids too and helps me to have them,” she said at the time.
“I’ll probably need IVF — and that’s quite scary.”
🌈 ‘One Egg Changed Everything’
After months of injections, hospital visits, emotional setbacks and unbearable waiting, Peggy’s story has taken a turn few dared to hope for.
From a 1% chance to a positive scan.
From one egg to a tiny heartbeat.
For many followers, her journey has become more than a celebrity update — it’s a reminder that even the smallest hope can sometimes lead to the biggest miracle.
💖 Sometimes, one little egg is all it takes.
