Brittany Mahomes and Kids Cheer on Patrick Mahomes at Kansas City Chiefs Preseason Game: ‘So Excited’

Los Angeles Chargers v Kansas City ChiefsFor the Mahomes family, football isn’t just a career — it’s a shared language of love, pride, and growing memories.

On Friday, August 22, Patrick Mahomes wrapped up the Kansas City Chiefs’ preseason schedule with family firmly by his side. Watching from the sidelines were his biggest supporters: wife Brittany Mahomes and their two older children, Sterling Skye, 4, and Patrick “Bronze,” 2½ — all dressed head-to-toe in Chiefs red and white.

It wasn’t just another preseason game.
It was a moment of growth — for the kids, and for the family.

Sharing photos from the day on Instagram, Brittany captured the emotional shift that comes with watching her children grow up inside stadiums instead of playrooms.

“Every year is different with my babies,” she wrote.
“I get so excited taking them to the first game and seeing how much more they understand and enjoy watching their dad play! This year is gonna be a good one 🥹😍🤍.”

The images showed Sterling standing proudly near the field, Bronze soaking in the atmosphere, and Brittany beaming as she watched her children cheer for their dad — not just because he’s famous, but because they now know what he does.

The Chiefs faced the Chicago Bears in their final preseason matchup, closing out a challenging exhibition run. While the team finished 0–3 in the preseason, optimism remains high heading into the regular season — something Mahomes knows better than anyone.

Kansas City officially kicks off the 2025 NFL season on Friday, September 5, against the Los Angeles Chargers, in a highly anticipated international opener in São Paulo.

But before the pressure ramps up, Patrick had something even more grounding waiting on the sidelines: family.

Brittany and Patrick are now parents to three children, having welcomed their youngest daughter, Golden, in January. While baby Golden wasn’t featured on the field this time, she’s already been part of a busy, sports-filled summer for the Mahomes clan.

Just days earlier, the family attended a match for the Kansas City Current — the women’s soccer team Brittany and Patrick co-founded together. All three children were present, with Bronze and Golden sporting oversized protective headphones, while Sterling happily kicked a soccer ball around with her mum — a former professional soccer player herself.

It’s a life immersed in sport, but always centered on togetherness.

Beyond Football: Busy Days, Simple Moments

Between preseason games and team commitments, Brittany has been embracing everyday family life just as enthusiastically.

Earlier in the week, she shared snaps from trips to the San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld San Diego, and LEGOLAND, captioning the carousel simply:
🤍 “Been busy.”

The photos reflected a family making the most of downtime — blending elite athletic careers with playgrounds, animal exhibits, and sticky-fingered adventures.

The couple recently appeared in a teaser for ESPN’s six-part docuseries The Kingdom, where Patrick opened up about balancing football with family milestones.

Golden was born on January 12, a date that could have complicated playoff preparations — but in classic Mahomes fashion, the timing worked out perfectly.

“We got to bye week,” Patrick explained, crediting Brittany for pushing through the season so he could be fully present when it mattered most.

He didn’t hold back in his praise.

“Brittany crushed it,” he said.
“I was watching playoff games the entire day. She went into labor after one game, the baby was here before the next game — so I didn’t even miss a playoff game.”

With a laugh, he added:

“She is as locked in as I am as far as football goes.”

More Than a Game

As Patrick Mahomes prepares for another season under the brightest lights in the NFL, moments like this — kids on the sidelines, proud smiles, tiny jerseys — tell a quieter story.

It’s about legacy.
It’s about watching your children grow up understanding not just what you do — but why you do it.

And for Brittany Mahomes, there’s nothing more exciting than seeing that understanding click — one preseason game at a time. 🏈❤️
