Boris Becker has revealed shocking details about his infamous affair, claiming he was unfairly painted as the villain after cheating on his pregnant wife, Barbara, while she was in the hospital. The tennis legend admits to having an affair with Russian model Angela Ermakova at London’s Nobu restaurant in 1999, while Barbara was preparing to give birth to their son Elias. The affair, which resulted in the birth of a child, forever altered their relationship, leading to their separation and a £10 million divorce settlement in 2001.

In a candid appearance on The Louis Theroux Podcast, Boris explained that his ex-wife had the upper hand in the aftermath of the affair. “She had the power because I was the bad guy. She got a nice cheque out of it. She got a nice monthly support,” he confessed, adding that the scandal had shaped his life in ways that no one could understand.

Despite the painful past, Boris insists that his relationship with Barbara is now amicable. He pointed out, “I like to call myself a good father. I really looked after my two oldest kids, even though they weren’t living in Europe at the time. 25 years later, we really consider each other a close-knit family, regardless of what happened.”

The revelation comes after the 58-year-old tennis icon introduced his youngest daughter, Zoe, to the tennis court over the weekend, sharing sweet family photos with his wife, Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro, who had just returned to the court after giving birth.

As he reflected on his past marriages, Boris stated that both Barbara and his second wife, Lilly Kerssenberg, had been drawn to him because of his fame and wealth. However, he claims that his current wife, Lilian, loves him for who he is, without the glitz and glamour. “When I met Lillian, I wasn’t rich anymore. I was physically impaired. She didn’t care much about tennis. I can honestly say she didn’t fall in love because of the wealth or the fame. She fell in love with me,” Boris revealed.

Boris’ comments have once again turned the spotlight on his tumultuous past and the powerful, public fallout of his affair. The former tennis champion’s candid words spark curiosity about his true feelings and the lasting impact of the betrayal on his family. What do you think?
