In an exclusive, heart-wrenching interview, Jamie Oliver and his wife Jools share their emotional journey as they face unexpected changes in their family life, after a deeply personal revelation about their children. The celebrity chef admits that despite the quieter household now that their eldest daughters, Poppy, 23, and Daisy, 22, have moved out, life is anything but peaceful.

The couple, who also have younger children—Petal, 16, Buddy, 15, and River, 9—are adjusting to a new family dynamic. With Poppy exploring Australia and Daisy diving into a nursing degree, Jamie confesses, “The house is less chaotic, but quieter? Not so much. You miss that noise, you miss them. I know Jools feels it deeply.”

However, the real bombshell came when Jamie shared an emotional truth about his children’s health. In a candid conversation, the 50-year-old chef revealed that several of their children have been diagnosed with neurodivergent conditions. This includes ADHD, dyslexia, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Jamie himself is no stranger to neurodiversity, as he was only diagnosed with dyslexia in January 2025. Reflecting on his own struggles growing up, he shared that he once felt “stupid, worthless, and thick” due to his undiagnosed condition. As a result, he became a vocal advocate for better support for children with similar challenges, even fronting a Channel 4 documentary titled Jamie’s Dyslexia Revolution.

But it wasn’t just his own diagnosis that changed Jamie’s life. Over the past year, he and Jools have learned to embrace their children’s unique traits. “It’s not about changing them, but about understanding how their brains work and how we can support them to thrive,” he explains. Recognizing their children’s neurodivergence has transformed Jamie and Jools’ approach to parenting, enabling them to better cater to their children’s needs.

Jamie, who has always been open about his own challenges, expressed that understanding neurodiversity within the family has only brought them closer. “Looking at neurodiversity has helped us grow as a family,” he says. “It has given us the tools to support each other and thrive, no matter what.”

Jamie has always stressed the importance of the education system updating to better support children facing these struggles. “What happens to those who don’t know where to go? We can’t leave kids’ futures up to luck,” he emphasized, underscoring his commitment to making a difference for those who struggle without a clear path.
