Made In Chelsea star Alice Vanderpump has hit back at online trolls who questioned her decision to bottle-feed her newborn son, Marmaduke, after she shared an update about her first month of motherhood.
In a recent video posted to her 238k TikTok followers, Alice, 24, shared a candid look at life with her baby boy, who she lovingly refers to as Duke. While she appeared on camera bottle-feeding her son, one follower couldn’t resist asking: “Can I ask why you chose to bottle-feed?”

Alice calmly responded, clarifying that she was not using formula, but rather, combination feeding with breast milk. She explained that her son had a tongue tie, which caused painful difficulties with breastfeeding. “It’s breast milk and I still breastfeed too,” she pointed out. “He had a tongue tie and destroyed my nipples. Now, I feel as though he doesn’t get enough milk when he’s just fed on the breast.”
The reality star, who is married to fellow Made In Chelsea star Sam Vanderpump, 28, also opened up about the emotional toll of motherhood. She admitted that while she is overwhelmed with love for her son, the anxiety has been overwhelming at times. “No one tells you about the anxiety as well. I wake up in the middle of the night and I’m worried he’s dead,” she confessed. “It’s so morbid. Or the fear of someone holding him. That stresses me out. If I’m not seeing him, if I’m in the other room, I have severe anxiety that I’m not around him. It’s just so scary, it’s so beautiful but so scary.”
Despite the pressures of parenthood, Alice has been adjusting to life with Duke, who was born on February 9, 2026, at the Kensington Wing of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. She and Sam recently tied the knot in an intimate ceremony before Christmas after Sam faced a health crisis in late 2024.
Sam had become seriously ill after contracting flu, which led to sepsis and liver and kidney failure. Despite the health scare, the couple chose to marry quickly, just before Alice gave birth. “I was struggling emotionally in the weeks leading up to the wedding because of everything going on with my health,” Sam said. “But I have been so over the moon happy these past few days.”
In an emotional announcement, Sam revealed that their son’s name, Marmaduke, was chosen to honor his late father, Mark Vanderpump, who passed away in 2018. “Marmaduke is a name my dad always wanted for my brother, and I think it’s fantastic,” Sam said. “We’ll call him Duke for short.”
The couple has shared some of the challenges they’ve faced as a family, including Sam’s ongoing struggle with liver disease. Despite these hardships, they’ve been committed to prioritizing love and family. “I always get sad when I think my dad’s never going to see his grandchild,” Sam admitted. “But now I get to be there for Duke, and that’s everything to me.”
Alice also recently opened up about her anxiety on We Need To Talk podcast with Paul C Brunson, revealing how her anxiety has intensified since becoming a new mother.
While Sam’s health issues remain a concern, the couple is determined to focus on the joy their son has brought into their lives. “Life is scary, but it’s also beautiful,” Alice said, as she shared a glimpse of their family’s journey with followers.
