Lorraine Kellyâs fans were left stunned as the beloved TV host revealed the personal health struggles that have forced her to step away from her ITV show. The 66-year-old presenter shared the heart-wrenching news on Instagram this morning, opening up about her battle with illness.

In a candid video to her 591,000 followers, Lorraine said: “Hi there! Just wanted to say thanks for all the get-well wishes. Iâm feeling a whole lot better. But this has been a bad lurgy. If youâre going through it yourself, you have my sympathies. Itâs a tough one. But Iâm getting there.”
However, it wasnât just her health that has led to the unexpected break. Lorraine also confirmed that changes to the show would keep her off air for several weeks. “I now do 30 weeks a year. So I wonât see you for a wee while,” she explained.
Despite the challenges, Lorraine expressed her deep gratitude to her loyal fans: “Thank you for sticking with me through all the changes, and I hope to see you when Iâm back on air. I never take it for granted. And I really, really appreciate you tuning in. Thanks so, so much.”
Alongside the emotional video, Lorraine shared a heartfelt caption thanking her viewers for their unwavering support: “THANK YOU for sticking with me through all of the changes to the show and for your kind messages. I will be back soon and really looking forward to your company.”
The support flooded in from fans and celebrities alike. Strictly star Amy Dowden posted: “Sending all the love, lovely lady @lorraine missed you this morning xxxx.” Meanwhile, Dr. Amir Khan added: “We love you and hope you feel better xx.”
The beloved showâs change has been met with mixed emotions. Fans are lamenting the fact that Lorraineâs airtime has been slashed, with one viewer saying, “30 minutes isnât enough, I love Lorraine.” Others voiced their concerns about the showâs shortened run, with one fan even suggesting: “We should start a petition for you, darling.”
Since January, Lorraineâs show has been reduced to just 30 minutes, airing only 30 weeks a year, instead of the previous daily format. Last week, Christine Lampard, who has been covering for Lorraine, confirmed the show would be taking a short break, with a return scheduled for April.
