Coleen Nolan has broken her silence in response to allegations made by her son Shane’s ex-girlfriend, Emma Kivell, who accused the Loose Women star of being a “cruel bully” and refusing to see her granddaughter, Amelia-Rose. The claims have sparked a fresh family feud, with Emma accusing Coleen of calling her “every name under the sun” and being “vile” during their strained interactions. 
Emma and Shane met in 2015, and by the following year, they had welcomed their daughter, Amelia-Rose. Despite not being in a relationship, Shane pledged to help Emma as a single mother, with Coleen even present during the birth. However, Emma now claims that Coleen’s attitude changed over time, accusing her of withdrawing from Amelia-Rose’s life. She alleged, “Coleen actually stopped seeing Amelia-Rose for a while because she was not willing to go to my house.”
Emma also suggested that the tension contributed to her breakdown, describing how Coleen allegedly called her “a jealous b***h” and more during their disagreements.
However, Coleen’s representative has hit back at the accusations, saying, “Our client strongly disputes the allegations, which are inaccurate and misleading. They are presented without the necessary context and arise from a contested private family matter. It is inappropriate to report on such matters, particularly where doing so risks involving a child.”
The family drama has escalated since the split between Emma and Shane. In a previous social media post, Shane insisted that he had been paying child maintenance and raised his contributions after the pandemic. “I would never not pay. We miss her and can’t wait for one day for her to be in our lives,” he wrote. However, Emma quickly refuted his claims, accusing Shane of making no real effort to be involved in their daughter’s life. She added, “He never asked how she is, how she’s doing, if she needs anything.”
The family tensions have now become public again, with Emma expressing her frustration with Coleen’s side of the family. “She doesn’t need your pettiness, or the toxicity from your side of the family,” she said in a social media post.
Meanwhile, Coleen has shared her excitement at becoming a grandmother multiple times, including celebrating the news of her son Jake Roche’s first child with his fiancée, Georgia. In 2024, she was thrilled to announce her youngest son’s pregnancy, calling it a time of love, pride, and happiness.
Shane, who married former Miss Great Britain, Maddie Wahdan, in 2022, faced more turmoil in his personal life when they split in December 2023 after allegations of cheating emerged.
