“Dexter Rason… or as he’s now known, Dex, Dexy, Dexington, and Dexy Boy,” Amy laughed, sharing a heartwarming video of her eldest son, Stanley, 3, cradling his newborn brother. But the journey to settle on a name wasn’t quite as simple as it sounds.
After narrowing the list down to a final two, Amy revealed how the process got chaotic when Stanley threw in his own pick, announcing to everyone at the gym that his brother would be called Dexter. Amy adds, “Can’t even tell you what the other names were — but trust me, next time, no more drama!”
But there’s more to the name Dexter than just playful mischief. Amy admitted that her love for the film One Day, where the main character is named Dexter Mayhew, was the inspiration behind the name. “I’ve loved it for years,” she shared, “and Dexy’s Midnight Runners — my fave song, Come On Eileen — sealed the deal.”
