The doctor, who is a mother of three, shared that she’s hoping to recover soon, despite the physical and emotional toll shingles can take. “I’m kind of hoping to start feeling better soon and get back to myself,” she added.
Her followers flooded her post with well wishes, expressing their sympathy and support, with comments like, “Wishing you a speedy recovery, Emily. Thanks for sharing the info about shingles,” and, “Get well soon, you’ve got this!”
Shingles, caused by the varicella zoster virus — the same virus that causes chickenpox — typically affects individuals when their immune system is weakened, reactivating the dormant virus in their body.
Emily married Mysterious Girl singer Pete in 2015 and the couple have three children together: Millie, 12, Theo, nine, and Arabella, one
Despite this unexpected health battle, Emily continues to be a pillar of strength and positivity for her family, including her children, Millie, 12, Theo, 9, and baby Arabella, 1.
In a recent interview, she also gave fans a peek into her family life with Peter, sharing that they prefer to keep their children out of the public eye, focusing on providing them with a grounded upbringing. This includes giving their kids 50p for chores like unloading the dishwasher or making their bed, though Emily admits, “I think I’m a bit stingy!”
As she recovers from her shingles diagnosis, Emily’s transparent and caring nature shines through, leaving fans eager for her speedy return to full health. Let’s all send her our best wishes during this challenging time!
