Alison Hammond, the much-loved star of This Morning, has bravely opened up about the terrifying day her home was broken into — by an intruder armed with a knife. The shocking revelation came during her appearance on the show, where Alison spoke candidly about the lasting impact of the ordeal.

“I felt completely violated,” Alison admitted. “It was my very first house that I bought with Aidan… I put so much love into making it a home. And then someone just came through the window, leaving footprints all over my brand-new carpet — and a knife behind.”

The experience left Alison shaken. “I never felt happy there again, I never felt safe. After a year, I had to sell it. It was terrifying,” she shared.
Despite this traumatic experience, Alison’s career has flourished. She has become one of TV’s highest-earning stars, with new accounts showing she earned £1.3 million last year, entering the top tier of British presenters alongside names like Zoe Ball, Stacey Solomon, and Susanna Reid.
Alison first rose to fame in the Big Brother House in 2002 and quickly became a fixture on This Morning, delighting viewers with her infectious personality. Today, she hosts alongside Dermot O’Leary and has appeared on shows such as I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, The Great British Bake Off, and Celebrity MasterChef.
But behind the laughter and TV success, Alison’s story is a stark reminder of the emotional toll a home invasion can take — and why safety and peace of mind are priceless.
