Denise Welch has gone to battle with a London council after they failed to collect her son’s rubbish – and things took a nasty turn when she claimed a bin collector swore at him. The Loose Women star took to social media to express her outrage, accusing Brent Council of mishandling the situation and even claiming a worker used a vile insult when her son tried to talk to them about it.
In an now-deleted post on Monday, Denise, 67, wrote: “Hi @brent_council. You haven’t emptied my son’s bins in 3 weeks. Any attempts at due process have failed. He tried to talk to a collector who called him a c***!! Can you let me know how we move forward!!!!”
The complaint stirred up a storm online, but within hours, Brent Council responded, assuring Denise that they were looking into the allegations. They even promised to investigate the incident with their contractor, Veolia. But Denise’s followers were left hanging as she removed the post without revealing which of her sons was involved. Many fans demanded clarity, commenting: “Which son was it, Denise?” and “Now that’s confirmed, could you let us know who it was?”
While the reason for missed bin collections can vary – from recycling contamination to incorrect placement – this particular incident stirred up a lot of emotional responses from Denise’s followers. Some jokingly asked for updates on “Matty’s empty wheelie bin,” referring to her son, Matty Healy, the 1975 frontman, while others wished for a resolution to the saga.
Denise is known for her “helicopter parenting” style, where she often steps into her sons’ lives with “military precision” to offer unsolicited advice. Her sons, Matty and Louis Healy, have humorously labelled her the “Poundland Kris Jenner” for her overbearing nature.
Despite the drama, Denise has found herself the center of attention, with her followers eagerly awaiting more details. But will the council do more than just investigate?
