Andrew Tweedy, Cheryl’s estranged brother, has been spotted begging for money and living in a tent outside a supermarket in Jarrow, South Tyneside. The 45-year-old, who has battled addiction and a troubled past, was first discovered homeless in 2021, and new photos reveal his ongoing struggles.

Despite Cheryl’s best efforts, including funding a £20,000 rehab stint, Andrew continues to fall back into old habits. Speaking candidly about his situation, he admitted: “I’ve been in rehab three times, but I’m not going back. I take one step forward and ten steps back, every time.”

Andrew has also faced multiple legal issues, recently appearing in court for being drunk and disorderly outside the same Morrisons supermarket. His history with crime dates back to his youth, with numerous arrests and prison sentences.

Andrew’s heartbreaking reality is a far cry from the life his sister, Cheryl, leads. Yet, despite his pride, he openly expressed the pain of his situation: “None of them have contacted me. Even though Cheryl’s not helping me, she’s still my family.”

Cheryl, despite her own career success, has never publicly commented on her brother’s struggles, but insiders say she has been “crippled by worry.” She was reportedly seen making covert visits to Andrew while he was serving time for a violent robbery.

One family member shared, “She came on her own. She looked so sad and so tired, completely different from how she looks on TV or when she’s singing on stage… It broke my heart to see her so worn out.”
