The show’s creators, Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, have reportedly struck a deal with Banijay UK to bring The Inbetweeners back. While details remained unclear at first, it’s now believed that the return will take the form of a movie, with Netflix set to be the streaming platform behind the project.

The original cast, including Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley, and Blake Harrison, is expected to reunite for the new venture. There’s also hope for the return of Emily Atack, who played Charlotte ‘Big Jugs’ Hinchliffe, adding even more excitement to the fans eagerly awaiting the comeback.

A source close to the deal revealed that The Inbetweeners has enjoyed a surge in popularity since its old episodes started streaming on Netflix, introducing the show to a new generation of fans. “Netflix have been keen to make this happen,” the insider shared, adding that discussions are still ongoing about the production timeline, storylines, and the cast.

The creators expressed their excitement in a statement, saying: “It’s incredibly exciting to be plotting more adventures for our four favourite friends.” The Inbetweeners 'returning to TV screens after 16 years' – but with a major change | Metro News

Banijay’s CEO, Patrick Holland, also shared his enthusiasm, praising the creative vision behind the show and how it resonates with both new and old audiences. “They have an infectious creative vision for the brand,” he said.

While no specific details have been confirmed, it’s clear that this will be a massive moment for fans who have followed the iconic characters from their awkward teenage years. Joe Thomas, who played Simon, previously mentioned that the cast would jump at the chance to reunite if the opportunity arose. “We’re all still in each other’s lives, and we would want to do it,” he said.
