In a heartwarming announcement, Natalie Portman, 44, shared the joyous news that she is pregnant with her third child. The actress, known for her incredible roles in Hollywood, expressed her gratitude for this new addition to her family. 
The baby will be her first with French music producer Tanguy Destable, 45, her partner since 2023. “Tanguy and I are very excited,” Natalie told Harper’s Bazaar. “I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle.”
Growing up as the daughter of a fertility doctor, Natalie has always been aware of the challenges some women face when it comes to getting pregnant. “I grew up hearing about how hard it is to get pregnant,” she said. “I have so many people I love who’ve had such a hard time with it that I want to be respectful around that as well.”
Natalie was quick to add that she knows how fortunate she is. “It’s such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it’s also not an easy thing,” she reflected.
The actress has two children from her previous marriage to choreographer Benjamin Millepied: son Aleph, 14, and daughter Amalia, 9. The couple finalized their divorce in 2024 after 10 years of marriage.
Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, Natalie revealed that this pregnancy is especially significant to her. “There’s a gratitude that when you’re young, you don’t necessarily grasp,” she said. “And there’s a calm and knowing myself: who I want to spend time with, what kind of energy I want around me that makes the experience so beautiful every day. And knowing it’s probably the last time, I cherish every moment.”
Though expecting her third child, Natalie says she still feels great. “I have more energy than I thought I might,” she confessed. “I’m swimming, doing gyrotonics to keep strong, and I’m spending time with my two children, which is always the best.”
Her last public appearance was in January at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, where she posed alongside Jenna Ortega and Charli XCX at The Gallerist Premiere. At the time, she was seen sporting a double-breasted coat that hinted at a baby bump.
Despite her status as one of Hollywood’s top stars, Natalie has always been careful to keep her family life private. She shared with Interview magazine that she doesn’t allow her children to be in the public eye. “I’m not a particularly private person in real life,” she said, “but in public, it was so clear early on that if you tell people how private you are, your privacy gets respected a lot more.”
She added that while her children bring immense joy, she prefers to maintain boundaries, saying, “I’m not going to do photo shoots with my kids.”
In a touching statement, Natalie said, “My kids are always a source of excitement, because you just see them develop into the individuals they are. I’ve been spending a lot of time with my friends, with their kids and my kids; that’s pretty fun.”
