In an inspiring and brave update, Jane Fallon, the beloved author and partner of comedian Ricky Gervais, has shared her health journey after undergoing her second surgery following a breast cancer diagnosis. The 65-year-old writer took to social media to update her fans, revealing that her second surgery went well and the margins of the original excision were clear.

Posting a heartwarming picture with her cat Pickles on Instagram, Jane shared, “Little update. So, my second surgery went well. They got the clear margin they need on the original excision, which is great.” She went on to explain that while a small patch of precancerous cells was found, doctors have decided that further surgery would not be necessary. “A huge percentage of pre-cancer doesn’t develop into cancer,” she reassured fans.

The author has always been open about her health battles, and following her surgery, she had a meeting with her oncologist. “We’ve agreed that the risks of radiation outweigh the benefits in my case,” she explained. Tamoxifen, a drug often prescribed after breast cancer treatment, was mentioned as an option, though Jane expressed hesitation about its side effects. She noted that there’s no pressure to make a quick decision.

“I’m feeling remarkably fine and in good spirits. Just looking forward to getting back to normal,” Jane wrote. She also shared her plans to update everyone once she receives the medical all-clear, as there’s still a slight chance of needing more surgery, depending on the final confirmation.

In a poignant moment, Jane also addressed a fake obituary that had been circulating online following her cancer diagnosis. “I’ve taken the post about the obituary down because I don’t want people to think I’m upset by it. I’m not. P***ed off, yes,” she stated. She wanted her followers to know that any photos of her in the hospital with tubes and looking sad were 100% fake, specifically AI-generated images.

Her fans flooded her with messages of support, including author Jojo Moyes, who wrote: “Well done for getting through another surgery. Wishing you some reassuring news very soon.” Many of Jane’s followers expressed their joy at her positive update, encouraging her to take her time and research the options available to her.

Jane’s ongoing courage and openness about her battle with cancer has inspired many, and her fans are eagerly waiting for the next update. Despite everything, Jane remains focused on her health, her family, and the future, ready to take on whatever comes next.
