Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, the beloved Jersey Shore star, has bravely shared her emotional journey as she prepares to undergo a ‘scary’ hysterectomy after being diagnosed with cervical cancer at just 38 years old. The MTV icon first revealed her shocking diagnosis earlier this year, telling fans she was battling stage 1 cervical cancer.

“I had a breakdown,” Snooki shared with People magazine. “I got to my car and I called my mom hysterically crying, thinking the worst.” However, after further testing, doctors confirmed that the cancer remains confined to its early stage and a hysterectomy in the coming months will likely be all she needs.

A more encouraging update has since emerged, with further tests confirming the cancer remains confined to its early stage and that, following a hysterectomy in the coming months, she'll need no further treatment

“I was scared,” Snooki admitted, as she reflected on the daunting news. “But you know what? It’s not the worst case and I can still deal with it. I’m gonna be fine.”

Snooki, who lives in Florham Park, New Jersey, with her husband Jionni LaValle and their three children, has been navigating a health scare that has left her emotional but determined. She described her fear of the hysterectomy but stressed that her priority is being there for her children.

“I’m done having kids, but as a woman, the thought of getting a hysterectomy is just sad and scary,” she said, visibly emotional. “Getting the hysterectomy and then not being able to have kids, I think that’s what’s killing me. But whatever keeps me healthy and safe to be here for my kids that I have now.”

Snooki’s journey to this point has not been easy. For years, she had been dealing with abnormal Pap smear results and precancerous cells on her cervix, which she initially ignored. “I knew something bad could happen,” she admitted. But after persistent calls from her doctor in 2025, she finally took action and underwent a colposcopy and biopsy, which confirmed the presence of cancerous cells.

The reality star admitted the biopsy process was “painful” and the emotional toll of dealing with the uncertainty was stressful. Still, she chose to share her experience with her followers, opening up about her feelings of fear and vulnerability.

Her emotional video on TikTok went viral, and her fans immediately flooded the comments with messages of support. Former Jersey Shore castmates Jenni Farley, Sammi ‘Sweetheart’ Giancola, and Deena Cortese were among those who rallied behind her. “I love you so much, you got this,” Jenni wrote. “Love you, we’re all here for you,” Deena added.

Amid the outpouring of support, Snooki acknowledged that this journey isn’t just about facing cancer, but also the emotional toll of realizing her family dynamics will change. Despite the tough road ahead, she has vowed to stay strong for her children, Lorenzo, Giovanna, and Angelo, and will continue sharing updates with her fans.

As she prepares for the surgery, Snooki’s fans continue to show their unwavering support, and the reality star remains determined to stay positive despite the difficult circumstances.
