Ruth Langsford is once again the target of cruel trolling after revealing her latest beauty procedure – a permanent makeup “tattoo” – two years after her high-profile split from Eamonn Holmes. The 66-year-old Loose Women host took to Instagram to show herself getting the inking done at a beauty salon in Woking, Surrey, and shared an intimate video of the process.
As she showed her followers the procedure, Ruth assured them: “It sounds painful, but really it isn’t!” But despite her calm demeanor, the reaction from fans and trolls alike has been mixed, with many pointing out the striking change in her appearance.
The video reveals Ruth undergoing a “topping up” of her eyebrow and eyeliner tattoos, a beauty treatment she first had two years ago, around the time of her separation from Eamonn. In her post, she explains the procedure in detail, revealing how the soft brown and taupe shade she chooses for her brows fades into a natural color, while the black eyeliner adds definition to her eyes.
Her fans were quick to show their support, with celebrity pals like Oti Mabuse chiming in with compliments. “Nice!” Oti said, while former Celebrity Big Brother contestant Lizzie Cundy added, “I need this!” Ruth, always engaging with her followers, replied: “Come with me next time!”
But the positive feedback was quickly overshadowed by harsh comments from some users, who didn’t hold back on their criticism. “I am not a fan of this look,” one commenter wrote. “It’s too severe, I prefer more natural beauty.” Another said: “Something else that’s fake then.” Some followers even claimed that Ruth’s face looked completely different, and questioned whether the woman in the video was really her.
The harshest critique came from a follower accusing Ruth of using a filter, claiming, “When you can’t even be honest with yourself about what you look like unfiltered… how vain!!” One even went as far as to say: “I’d want my money back!”
This comes just two years after Ruth and Eamonn announced their shock split in May 2024. Since then, Eamonn has moved on with younger girlfriend Katie Alexander, while Ruth remains single, focusing on her work as a Loose Women regular. Eamonn’s health has also made headlines recently, after he was hospitalized for a stroke, with reports suggesting Ruth feels the “pain” of being excluded from his recovery.
Through it all, Ruth continues to show her strength, but this latest beauty revelation has sparked a flood of debate online. As Ruth says herself: “If you’ve been thinking about it, go on… you’re worth it!” 💁♀️✨
