In the raw interview, Guthrie discussed the moment she learned her mother had been kidnapped, a realization that has haunted her ever since. “I think my brother, my siblings are so amazing, my brother, he spent his career in the military and worked in intelligence… but that conversation — ‘Do you think because of me?’ — just haunts me,” she admitted through sobs. “I’m so sorry, Mommy. I’m sorry to my sister, my brother, my kids… I’m just so sorry.”

Guthrie’s emotional outpouring was met with an outpouring of support from her Today colleagues, with co-host Craig Melvin and Carson Daly visibly shaken by her pain. “It’s the hardest part,” Melvin said, “that she would blame herself.”

As the search for Nancy Guthrie enters its eighth week, Savannah and her family continue to appeal for help from the public, desperate for answers. Guthrie’s powerful message, urging anyone with information to come forward, resonated deeply, as she said through tears, “Someone needs to do the right thing. We are in agony. We are in agony. It is unbearable.”

The second half of this interview will air on Today on Friday, March 27, with Savannah continuing to share her journey of pain, hope, and strength.
