During Monday’s Live with Kelly and Mark, co-host Kelly Ripa made the stage glow with love, announcing: “Today is a very special day because it’s the birthday of my favorite person on this planet… Mark Consuelos.”
The 55-year-old actor was left speechless as the team unveiled a touching AI video featuring their dog, Lina, adopted in 2021. Kelly revealed, “Your favorite child has sent you a message,” and the clip did not disappoint.
Lina chirped in the video: “Hi daddy! I’m getting ready to celebrate your birthday. I’m staying hydrated and getting my steps in. Guess what? In dog years, you’re 385 years old, but to me, you don’t look a day over 55. Love you. Kisses!”
Mark, clearly moved, admitted: “Is it weird that I got emotional? I got emotional. Who am I? What’s happened to me? That’s the nicest thing. Thank you. I needed that.” Kelly laughed, explaining the effort that went into getting Lina to speak, to which Mark responded, “Aww, so sweet.”
The birthday celebration also prompted Mark to reflect on life at 55. He shared candidly: “I feel good. I feel better now than I did 10 years ago, which is interesting.”
He even compared his fitness to his parents’ earlier years, recalling: “They would get in a cab – I would always take my parents somewhere… it took a long time for them to get into and out of a cab, a lot of huffing and puffing.” Mark chuckled, noting that daily movements feel a little more challenging now: “Things pop and snap when I get up in the morning. But I still don’t get up to go to the bathroom, which is good.”
Kelly affectionately concluded: “I’m very happy you were born,” and Mark replied with a smile, “Me too.”
The couple, together for over 30 years, met in 1995 on the set of All My Children and married the following year. They share three children: Michael, Lola, and Joaquin.
This heartfelt surprise and their playful reflections on life serve as a reminder that love, laughter, and family moments remain timeless, no matter how many birthdays pass.
