Paddy McGuinness and his ex-wife Christine are at odds over the sprawling seven-bedroom family home in Cheshire they can’t seem to sell — despite putting it on the market over a year ago for £6.5million.

The couple, who split in 2022 after 11 years of marriage, bought the house for £2.1million in 2020. Local estate agents have slammed the asking price as “overhyped,” pointing out that similar properties in Prestbury are selling for at least £1million less.

A source close to the family told the Mail on Sunday: “Christine wants to move on, but it seems Paddy doesn’t want her to. He wants a big house to fit his ego. It feels like a control thing. He knows he’ll never get £6.5million, but he’s playing silly games.”
Despite the tension, Paddy, 52, and Christine, 38 — who recently came out as a “five-star lesbian” — continue to live under the same roof with their three children, staying in separate rooms.
The estate listing describes the property as a “traditional-meets-modern, voluminous home… all about the family — but in an opulent way.” However, estate agent David Votta noted: “A house is only worth what someone will pay for it. Buyers aren’t willing to pay a celebrity premium for this property. Overpriced, overhyped and underwhelming — this is a Paddy’s Pad problem.”
Meanwhile, Paddy, host of the upcoming Big Break revival on the BBC, has been linked to fellow presenter Kirsty Gallacher, further fueling public curiosity about the family drama.
With a property stuck on the market, lingering tensions, and high-profile romances, the McGuinness mansion saga is proving that even celebrities aren’t immune to real estate headaches — and the overhyped price tag only adds fuel to the fire.
