Joy Behar Takes a Break From ‘The View’ for European Theatre Adventure

Joy Behar, the outspoken and beloved co-host of The View, is set to step away from the daytime panel for several weeks — and it’s not for rest or relaxation. Behar will travel first to Paris and then to London, where the production will run at the iconic Boulevard Theatre in the West End. Sharing details about the cast, she revealed she’ll be performing alongside Jackie Hoffman and two British actors, promising audiences a mix of comedy, drama, and transatlantic flair. Beyond performing, Behar said the trip will also be a chance for writing and cultural exploration, making it a full-on creative journey away from her usual panel duties. The View' cohost Joy Behar taking hiatus to go to Europe, star in play 'My First Ex-Husband'

Executive producer Brian Teta confirmed Behar will remain on The View through the end of the week before heading abroad. During her absence, a rotating lineup of guest cohosts will keep the conversation going, including comedian Sheryl Underwood, podcast host Kara Swisher, and expanded appearances by Ana Navarro. Even Whoopi Goldberg, who usually takes Fridays off, is expected to appear to fill the schedule gap.

Behar’s European break comes after months of temporary panel adjustments, with the show frequently relying on guest cohosts to accommodate overlapping schedules, personal leave, and health-related absences. Since returning in 2015 after an original run dating back to the show’s 1997 debut, Behar has remained one of The View’s most recognizable and spirited voices, ensuring fans will eagerly await her return.
