Behar returned to the panel on Friday, propping her bandaged right foot on the table to show viewers the damage. “It was very painful,” she admitted, jokingly warning others not to try the same. Her co-star Sunny Hostin had previously suggested getting a larger iPad, but Behar laughed, glad she had not taken the advice.

Sunny even offered to have her husband, orthopedic surgeon Emmanuel Hostin, examine Joy’s foot, but the comedian politely declined. The co-hosts shared laughs over the incident, with Alyssa Farah Griffin teasing Behar about missing work, and Ana Navarro humorously suggesting she enlist Matthew McConaughey’s help, referencing a previous on-air massage moment.

While Joy’s injury kept her away from the show, she stayed connected with the team — even sending Whoopi Goldberg lasagna for her 70th birthday. In her absence, the remaining hosts, including Whoopi, Sunny, Ana, Alyssa, and Sara Haines, held down the fort admirably.

Returning to live TV, Joy explained the full story behind her broken toe and confirmed she was picking up her cast that day. Fans were reassured to see her in good spirits, maintaining her trademark humor and energy despite the painful setback.
