Denise Welch has fans buzzing after she hinted she might be in talks for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing. The 2026 celebrity line-up is still under wraps following a major shake-up of the hit BBC show, but speculation is growing about who will hit the ballroom this season.

When asked about a potential Strictly appearance, Denise playfully told The Sun: “I’m pleading the fifth on that one. Bye!” The star, known for her time on ITV’s Loose Women, joins a long list of former presenters who have competed on the dance floor, including Kaye Adams, Ruth Langsford, and Judi Love.
Even though Denise may be eyeing the ballroom, she emphasized that her main focus remains acting, with several exciting projects on the horizon. “It’s all exciting,” she added.
Meanwhile, this month Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe, and Josh Widdicombe were confirmed as the new hosts of Strictly, taking over from Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman after their departures last year. Emma admitted she was a longtime fan and called stepping into the iconic show “something I can’t quite comprehend.” Josh, recalling his 2024 Christmas Special penguin costume, said he felt “giddy with excitement”, while Johannes described the opportunity as “beyond anything I ever imagined.”
The trio officially began their roles in September 2026, promising to carry forward the show’s signature mix of joy, heart, and togetherness, with glitter, sequins, and nerves included.
With Denise teasing her own participation, fans are eagerly wondering if she’ll soon take to the floor, adding another layer of excitement and mystery to this year’s Strictly.
