Telly favourites Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford are bracing for a high-stakes courtroom battle over their estimated £10million fortune, after private negotiations failed to produce a settlement. The estranged couple, both 66, will face a trial this November following two preliminary hearings last year, marking the next dramatic chapter in their split.
A source revealed: “A lengthy court battle is the last thing the couple wanted, but they just can’t agree. It’s very sad, but they are both prepared to fight for what they feel is rightfully theirs.”
The dispute includes their sprawling Surrey marital home, purchased 12 years ago for £3.6million and now worth significantly more, alongside a personal fortune reportedly around £5million. Ruth has launched court action for a “financial remedy,” with the case formally listed as Ruth Holmes vs Eamonn Holmes, naming the former This Morning co-host as respondent.

Eamonn, who recently recovered from a stroke, has enlisted top barrister Deborah Bangay KC, famed for securing a landmark settlement for footballer Ray Parlour’s wife, while Ruth’s legal team is headed by Nicholas Wilkinson, a high-profile family law expert.

The couple, who share a 24-year-old son, have both remained in the public eye during the proceedings. Ruth has released a new autobiography to raise funds, while Eamonn continues hosting stage shows and managing significant tax obligations, having sold two properties in recent months.

With emotions running high and a £10million prize at stake, this courtroom clash promises to be one of the most closely watched celebrity divorces of the year.
