Now back full-time on Today, Sheinelle shared candidly with Anderson Cooper on the All There Is With Anderson Cooper podcast about the hardest lessons she’s learned through grief. But her focus, she revealed, has never been solely on her own heartbreak — it’s been on helping her children navigate theirs.

“As a mom, it’s tough because you don’t want to make them sad,” Sheinelle said. “I have three teenagers, you know, so there’s a tap dance as their mom, allowing us all to be vulnerable. There’s a time and a space for us to reflect, and also a time for them to show [that] we can’t move on, [but] we can move forward with that.” Sheinelle Jones Was 'So Strong' After Late Husband's Brain Cancer Diagnosis

Even as her family continues to move forward, the pain Sheinelle carries remains profound. “I think the biggest pain I carry now, and I am not even to a year … the biggest pain I have is not my own,” she admitted, tearfully. “It’s that I can’t fix it. As a mother, you just want to fix it. Your kids, you don’t want them to hurt, and I think when he passed, the blow that it was and the grief and all of it, like, as a mama bear for me not to be able to fix it, even now, is excruciating. It’s excruciating that I can’t take that pain away.” Today's Sheinelle Jones Says She's Still 'Not Better' After Husband's Death

Sheinelle Jones’s emotional reflections remind viewers that grief is complex, and that sometimes, the heaviest burdens are the ones we carry for those we love most.
