KATE Garraway has spoken candidly about her new romance and revealed why she attended the TRIC Awards in London on Tuesday without her boyfriend.
The GMB presenter, 59, has been growing close to broadcast journalist Liam Halligan, 56, over the past few months. Despite their blossoming relationship, Kate arrived at the star-studded event solo, explaining: “I didn’t get a plus one so I couldn’t bring anyone.”

A friend told the press: “It’s still very early days for them, but they’re fitting into each other’s lives well and spending lots of time together. They’re happy, but they aren’t rushing anything. Kate has known Liam for over 20 years, so she feels familiar and safe with him.”
Kate was seen supporting Liam last month as he completed a 300km charity tandem bike ride from London to Paris. The outing showcased the pair’s bond while raising awareness for the charities close to their hearts.z

While on the red carpet, Kate also reflected on her recent tense Good Morning Britain interview with ex-footballer Jermaine Jenas. The former Tottenham midfielder spoke openly about losing his roles on Match of the Day and The One Show after allegations of “inappropriate texts” came to light.
Kate told reporters: “I think he wanted to talk about his experiences. We just tried to ask the questions people were thinking. It’s tricky because he’s trying to own what happened, but people still have questions. He was fine with me afterward.”
The star continues to navigate life after loss, balancing her media career while embracing new beginnings in her personal life.
