SUSAN Boyle has revealed the surprising flirty messages she still receives from male admirers – but insists she doesn’t have the “strength” to pursue romance at the moment.
The I Dreamed A Dream singer, 65, who shot to fame on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, reflected on the letters during a candid chat with STV Radio.
“I receive fan mail from some men who like to think I fancy them,” Susan admitted. “But at my age, I don’t have the strength.”
The star also opened up about the long road to recovery after a near-fatal stroke in 2022, which left her slightly slurring her words. “Some people think I sound as if I’m drunk, but I’m not,” she explained. “I wasn’t too well, but I’ve got over most of it. I’m back on it now – they couldn’t shut me up for long enough!”
Susan praised her loyal fans for their unwavering support during her health battle. “They mean a lot to me. Even when things were really bad, they’ve been writing to me, and that encouragement has been incredibly moving,” she said.
The Scottish superstar – who recently appeared in ads for Irn-Bru and Cornetto – also revealed plans to return to the studio for her first album in a decade. She will be working with American songwriting legend Diane Warren, who penned Cher’s 1989 hit If I Could Turn Back Time and Aerosmith’s I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.
“I’ve been doing a few things in the recording studio with Diane Warren,” Susan said. “I hope to go over to LA sometime to work with her. It’s in the pipeline, but I’ll take my time. I’m a perfectionist – I like to get things right.”:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc():focal(749x0:751x2)/Susan-Boyle-Pride-of-Britain-Awards-2025-060526-f476e5d7f266443d9a4863cde7b1e1bc.jpg)
Despite decades in the spotlight, Susan’s humility and connection with her fans remain as strong as ever, proving she still has the passion to make music and share her journey with the world.
