Rylan Clark had fans laughing and worrying after he missed his BBC Radio 2 show on Saturday thanks to a string of flight cancellations that left him stranded in Nice.
The 37-year-old presenter, usually live from 3pm to 6pm on Rylan on Saturday, had Mark Goodier step in for him. Taking to Instagram, Rylan joked: “Soz about today’s show. I blame everyone but myself. Flights all cancelled. Thanks Mark for stepping in, you legend. Gonna have a rosé and think of you all.”
He later called Emma Willis on air to explain: “I was enjoying a few days away in Nice with my partner and friends, cleared my diary for the show, and then boom – no flights! I even considered an eight-hour train, but it wouldn’t have got me on time, so I stayed an extra day.”
Despite the travel chaos, Rylan kept his usual sense of humour, admitting he was enjoying the sunshine and a chilled rosé with ice cubes while fans waited for updates.
The radio host has also been open recently about his personal life, reflecting on his past marriage to Dan Neal and the struggles that followed, including infidelity, heartbreak, and his journey to finding love again with Kennedy Bates.
Rylan shared that he feels grateful for his new chapter, saying he’s learning to enjoy life and embrace love while being honest about the lessons of the past.
