Just weeks after announcing the end of their 22-year marriage, new reports suggest Tess Daly may be questioning whether walking away from Vernon Kay was the right decision.
Although the former couple publicly insisted they were separating on good terms, fresh claims allege that the emotional reality has been far more complicated behind the scenes.
A Split That Still Doesn’t Feel Final
In May, Tess, 57, and Vernon, 52, confirmed they had decided to end their marriage after more than two decades together.
In a joint statement, they stressed that the separation was amicable and promised to remain “great friends” while continuing to co-parent their daughters, Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 17.
Since then, however, fans have noticed that the pair still appear remarkably close.
They have continued spending time together as a family, have both been seen wearing their wedding rings on several occasions, and haven’t hidden their support for one another on social media.
When Tess recently shared glamorous photos from Greece promoting her Naia Beach swimwear collection, Vernon publicly commented: “Absolutely rocking!!!”
Earlier this month, after Tess posted photos from a New York trip with daughter Phoebe, Vernon once again showed his support, replying: “What a few days,” alongside heart and fire emojis.
Those warm exchanges have only fueled speculation that the bond between them remains stronger than many expected.
Claims Tess Is Questioning Her Decision
According to Closer, those continued family moments have reportedly stirred up difficult emotions for Tess.
One unnamed source claimed she has found herself wondering whether the separation happened too quickly.
“Tess knows she’s silly even reconsidering her decision, but that hasn’t stopped her wishing that she could. She’s been struggling, asking herself if she’s been too hasty. She can’t help but wonder if she’s made a huge mistake.”
The insider also claimed that Father’s Day proved especially emotional for the family.
“After being a family over Father’s Day, all those precious memories came flooding back. There’s still so much love.”
The source went on to suggest that every family gathering reminds Tess of what they once shared together.
“How does she not fall back in love with her husband at every family event? It still feels so very alien not being together.”
Another unnamed insider reportedly described Tess as feeling “stuck between a rock and a hard place,” claiming that her emotions are making it difficult to move forward.
It’s important to note that these claims have not been independently verified, and Tess has not publicly commented on the reports.
A Love Story Fans Haven’t Forgotten
Part of the fascination surrounding the split comes from the couple’s long history together.
Tess and Vernon first met at a BBC Christmas party in 2001, where an instant connection reportedly sparked between them.
Looking back, Tess once described their chemistry as immediate.
“We instantly had such a blast together. I couldn’t imagine having more fun with anyone else.”
