Amy Dowden Shares Stunning Bikini Photos as She Marks Emotional Milestone Three Years After Breast Cancer Surgery

Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has shared a powerful message of hope alongside stunning bikini photos from her holiday in Ibiza, reflecting on just how much her life has changed since her breast cancer diagnosis.
The 35-year-old professional dancer posted a series of sun-soaked snaps on Instagram, posing confidently beside an infinity pool while taking in the breathtaking views of the Spanish island. But behind the glamorous holiday pictures was a deeply personal anniversary that made the post especially meaningful.
A Journey She’ll Never Forget
Amy revealed that exactly three years ago, she had recently undergone a mastectomy and was preparing for fertility treatment before beginning chemotherapy.
Looking back on one of the most frightening chapters of her life, she admitted she was terrified—not only of the cancer treatment itself but also of the possibility of being forced into early menopause because her cancer was hormone-fed.Strictly pro Amy Dowden poses in a bikini in Ibiza as she says 'every day is a gift' and celebrates 'living life to the fullest' three years on from 'terrifying' breast cancer
Sharing her heartfelt reflection, Amy wrote:

“Three years ago today, I had just recently had my breast removed and was currently undergoing fertility treatment before starting chemotherapy.

“I was terrified… Fast forward exactly three years, and my perspective on life has completely changed.”

Today, Amy says she approaches every day with gratitude, appreciating the simple moments she once took for granted.

“I live each day to the fullest… Every day is a gift, and I’m determined to make the most of it.”

She ended her message by celebrating resilience, hope, and every milestone in her recovery.
Her Breast Cancer Battle
Amy first revealed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2023.
Her treatment included a mastectomy, fertility preservation procedures, chemotherapy, and ongoing medication designed to help prevent the disease from returning.
In February 2024, she announced the wonderful news that doctors had given her the all-clear, although she has continued receiving monthly treatment to help keep the cancer in remission.
Throughout her recovery, Amy has remained remarkably open with fans, regularly documenting both the emotional and physical realities of life after cancer.
Honest Updates Throughout Recovery
Last year, Amy also shared photos following another breast surgery, posting a hospital selfie while wearing a compression bra.
She admitted recovery wasn’t always easy but said she was proud of the progress she had made.
“I’ve been taking it slow, listening to my body, being kind with myself, and celebrating the small wins,” she wrote.
As her strength gradually returned, Amy explained that her energy and movement had improved significantly, allowing her to begin physiotherapy and focus on getting back to dancing.
She also encouraged her followers to regularly check their bodies for any unusual changes and reminded them that every patient’s recovery journey is different.
An Inspiring New Outlook
Three years after one of the most difficult periods of her life, Amy’s latest post wasn’t simply about enjoying a holiday—it was a celebration of survival, resilience, and a reminder never to take another day for granted.
Her emotional message resonated with thousands of fans, many praising her positivity, honesty, and determination to embrace life after cancer.
