Joy Behar Takes a Short Break From The View as She Focuses on Theater Projects

Fans of The View will notice a familiar face missing from the panel for a brief period as longtime co-host Joy Behar begins a planned two-week break from the daytime talk show.

Behar recently clarified that her absence is not a departure from the program, but rather a scheduled trip connected to her work outside television.

A Creative Project Overseas

Speaking during recent episodes of The View and its companion podcast, Behar explained that she will be traveling to Europe to continue work on her stage production, My First Ex-Husband.

Her itinerary includes time in Paris, where she plans to spend time writing, before heading to London’s West End, where the play will be performed at the Boulevard Theatre.

The production features a cast of both American and British performers, a collaboration Behar has described as an exciting opportunity.

Although stepping away from her television duties temporarily, she emphasized that the trip is work-related rather than an extended vacation.

Familiar Faces Joining the Panel

While Behar is away, several well-known television personalities will help fill her seat at the discussion table.

Comedian and television host Sheryl Underwood is expected to appear during part of the first week, while journalist Kara Swisher will also join the panel for selected episodes.

Current co-host Ana Navarro is scheduled to take on additional appearances during Behar’s absence, and Whoopi Goldberg is also expected to appear on a Friday edition of the show, expanding her usual hosting schedule.

When Will She Return?

Although ABC has not announced an exact return date, Behar indicated that she expects to be away for approximately two weeks.

If the schedule remains unchanged, viewers can likely expect to see her back on The View during the middle of June.

In the meantime, fans will still be able to see Behar in pre-recorded episodes of The Weekend View, meaning she will not disappear completely from television while overseas.

After decades as one of the program’s most recognizable voices, Behar’s brief absence marks only a temporary pause as she balances her television career with her longtime passion for writing and theater.
