Princess and Junior Andre Left Heartbroken After Missing Out on I’m A Celebrity Spin-Off Following Major TV Decision

Princess Andre and Junior Andre have reportedly been dealt a disappointing setback after their hopes of competing together on ITV’s new I’m A Celebrity spin-off were unexpectedly dashed.

The famous siblings are said to have been eager to sign up for IAC: The Wild Frontier, a brand-new adventure series that will see celebrity duos face extreme survival challenges in the Canadian wilderness. But despite their enthusiasm, reports claim the pair were told they could not be considered for the show.

According to The Sun, Princess and Junior’s management approached the programme’s casting team after learning the spin-off would feature contestants competing in pairs. The opportunity seemed like the perfect fit, particularly given the family’s long history with I’m A Celebrity.

A source told the publication that the brother and sister had “always wanted” to follow in their parents’ footsteps.

“It’s where their mum and dad met, so it would have been a lovely full-circle moment,” the insider reportedly said.Princess and Junior Andre on the red carpetPrincess and Junior reportedly have been rejected from I’m A Celebrity spin-off role (Credit: Splashnews.com)

However, the timing of another major television project is believed to have ended those hopes.

Princess and Junior have already filmed the upcoming BBC series Celebrity Race Across the World, which has not yet aired. Because both programmes involve celebrity pairs taking on demanding outdoor challenges, ITV reportedly decided the similarities were too significant.

Insiders claimed producers were concerned that if both shows aired around the same time, viewers could see them as competing formats. With Celebrity Race Across the World still awaiting its broadcast, ITV allegedly chose not to cast the Andre siblings for the new survival series.

The decision reportedly left both Princess and Junior “gutted.”

The disappointment is said to be especially emotional because I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! holds a special place in their family’s history. In 2004, their parents, Katie Price and Peter Andre, famously met while appearing on the ITV reality show, beginning one of British television’s most talked-about celebrity romances.

Junior has previously spoken openly about his dream of entering the jungle himself. During a 2022 interview, he joked that he and his sister were destined to take part.

“We came from the jungle, didn’t we?” he said, adding that appearing on the programme would be “a very big achievement.”

Although this latest opportunity appears to have slipped away, many fans believe it may only be a matter of time before Princess and Junior finally make their long-awaited I’m A Celebrity debut if another chance comes along.
