Kelvin Fletcher Shares Emotional Message From The Great Yorkshire Show As Farming Family Celebrate Britain’s Biggest Rural Event: “We Are Loving It”

Kelvin Fletcher and his family have once again won the hearts of farming fans after making a memorable appearance at this year’s Great Yorkshire Show.

The former Emmerdale star and his wife, Liz Fletcher, were among the celebrity guests celebrating British agriculture, and their heartfelt tribute to the farming community quickly became one of the standout moments of the event.

A Special Day For Britain’s Farming Community

Known to millions through ITV’s Fletchers’ Family Farm, Kelvin and Liz joined farmers from across the country as they presented prizes at the National Zwartbles Sheep Show during the 2026 Great Yorkshire Show.

The couple, who now run a 120-acre farm in the Peak District with their four children, spent the day meeting exhibitors, speaking with farming families and celebrating the dedication behind one of the UK’s biggest agricultural events.

Reflecting on the experience, Kelvin couldn’t hide his enthusiasm.

“We are loving the show. This is an amazing experience and essential in the industry.”

He also admitted there was simply too much to see in a single visit.

“You can’t do it all in a day.”

Why The Show Means So Much

Across the showground, conversations ranged from the latest farming innovations to the challenges created by this summer’s intense heatwave.

For Kelvin, that perfectly captures what makes the event so important.

“With every challenge, farmers find a way to overcome.”

His comments highlighted the resilience that has become synonymous with Britain’s farming community, praising those who continue adapting despite increasingly difficult conditions.

Liz Fletcher Praises The Farming Spirit

Liz revealed that the family have now attended the Great Yorkshire Show for six consecutive years and have never missed the event.

According to her, every visit offers something different.

“We’ve been coming six years running now. We’ve not missed a year. Every day is different—we’re always discussing something new.”

She believes the show is about far more than competitions.

“It’s a real sense of community. That makes it even more special for farmers and for everyone who visits.”

Liz also reminded visitors how much work lies behind every animal and every competition.

“This is the farmers’ work—work they have done for months and years. It’s a day farmers look forward to just as much as the general public.”

A Star-Studded Celebration Of Rural Britain

The Fletcher family are just some of the familiar faces attending this year’s Great Yorkshire Show.

The event has also welcomed television favourites including The Yorkshire Vet star Peter Wright, while Escape to the Country presenter Jules Hudson and Clarkson’s Farm favourite Harriet Cowan are also among the celebrity guests appearing throughout the week.

For Kelvin and Liz, however, the biggest stars remain the farmers themselves—whose dedication, resilience and passion continue to inspire visitors year after year.
