RYAN’S SHOCK CONFESSION LEAVES DYLAN REELING AFTER BETSY’S DEVASTATING STROKES!

Ryan Connor offered Dylan Wilson some surprising words of wisdom in the aftermath of Betsy’s devastating stroke during Tuesday’s (21 July) episode of Coronation Street. Dylan has spent recent days avoiding Weatherfield General Hospital as he struggled to come to terms with the consequences of Betsy’s medical emergency and his role in what happened.

The teen initially lashed out against his friend Brody, accusing Betsy of cheating on him with the troublemaker. His claims quickly sparked a furious confrontation, with Brody branding Dylan a liar and insisting he’d press charges if he was in Betsy’s position.

This, along with a pleading text, was enough to persuade Dylan to visit Betsy in hospital, where he was forced to confront the reality of his actions. Betsy challenged Dylan over his accusations, while he admitted his father Sean Tully had convinced him she’d been unfaithful.

However, he was still struggling to process everything that had happened. Dylan also confessed he feared he could end up in prison after Lisa Swain reported him to the police, particularly given his previous run-in with the law.

The emotional encounter left Dylan overwhelmed, but as he left Betsy’s hospital room he was stopped by Ryan Connor, who shared an unexpected perspective on the difficult situation.

Despite his affiliation to the Connor-Swain clan, as Carla’s nephew by marriage, Ryan sympathised with Dylan and suggested he never intended to hurt Betsy. Ryan then shared that he’d previously found himself in similar situations, admitting he had experimented with consensual strangulation himself.

“I’m not having a go,” he said. “It was both of you, I get it. I’ve been in a couple of situations myself where it was… It’s just a bit of a kink, isn’t it?” Ryan admitted he’d had no idea the practice could have such serious consequences, before explaining that the damage to Betsy’s artery had taken time to reach her brain.

He reassured Dylan that, despite the devastating outcome, he believed he never intended to seriously harm Betsy. Ryan’s support offered Dylan some food for thought and comfort at a time when a few Weatherfield residents have turned against him.

Ryan isn’t the first resident to reveal his stance on the matter. In a previous episode, Summer Spellman also said she had experience with consensual strangulation and would never try it again.

Later, Dylan shared a heartfelt conversation with Sean in the Rovers Return, admitting he could be thrown behind bars for what had happened. Although he insisted Betsy’s stroke had been completely unintentional, Dylan told his father he wasn’t certain he’d be able to cope with its consequences.

And while Ryan has shown compassion towards the troubled lad, Lisa remains determined to see justice done. The detective has continued to encourage Betsy to make a formal complaint and press charges against Dylan, convinced he should be held accountable for her injuries.

Meanwhile, Lauren has shared Lisa’s opinion, urging Betsy to keep a safe distance from Dylan. With Dylan now accepting that his future could be on a knife’s edge, the fallout from Betsy’s stroke could have dire consequences – but will he actually get sent down?
