Just two months after saying an emotional goodbye to his beloved family dog Bob, Matt Baker has shared a touching new chapter from life at home with his wife of 21 years, Nicola Mooney.

The Countryfile presenter delighted fans by revealing that the family has welcomed an adorable new border collie puppy — a moment filled with excitement, affection and, inevitably, memories of the much-loved dog they recently lost.

In a heartwarming video shared on Instagram, Matt introduced fans to the tiny pup that immediately captured his family’s attention.

Holding the puppy carefully in his arms, Matt explained how one particular dog had stood out from the rest.

“We’ve come to say ‘hi’ to this lot, and this one here stuck out to us; he’s definitely the one,” Matt said.

“Say hi to our new pup.”

The little border collie already appeared completely at ease with his new family, cuddling into Matt before affectionately licking Nicola’s face.
