Lindsay Hubbard addressed what happened to Katie Arundel, who was barely shown on the premiere season of In the City. She also clapped back at Whitney Fransway’s suggestion that she lied at the reunion about crying for six months over what Whitney said.

On a cast trip, Lindsay declared that she and her friend Georgina were taking the primary room because they were two mothers who hadn’t been away from their kids in a while. Whitney then claimed that her co-stars were using the ‘single mom card.’ It was also mentioned that Lindsay gets help from a nanny.

As for Katie, her storyline mysteriously trailed off during the season, despite being in the cast photo. Katie was introduced as a ‘friend of’ for Amanda Batula, whose controversial relationship with West Wilson (which the couple confirmed in March) was heavily featured at the reunion.

On July 21, Lindsay responded to a fan who asked on Threads, “Why hasn’t anyone answered where Katie went? Why was she in the cast photos? Why did we get a reel introducing her with Amanda? Georgina had the same type of reel with Lindsay and was featured heavily in the season. I just dont understand. Someone [explain]. Where did Katie go?”

Lindsay soon responded, “She was a ‘friend of’ and we already had a huge cast, plus a scandal involving her bff [Amanda].”

That same day, Lindsay reacted to Whitney’s suggestion that she lied about crying for six months.

“A little context: I don’t typically cry in public (if I can help it) … but I typically only cry in private, and when I DO cry in public, it’s an unnatural feeling for me to be that vulnerable in front of people. I’ve always had to be the ‘strong’ one my whole life, for a lot of reasons,” wrote Lindsay on Instagram. “But motherhood changed me.”

“[It] altered my brain chemistry, took over my entire mental load, stretched my heart, and made me a ‘softer’/more emotional person now bc of it,” she continued. “So as it turns out… now I cry, just mostly in private.”

Lindsay said she cried during every confessional for six months when “asked about my 1st year of motherhood,” and the “editors” were “shook by it.”

“I had multiple convos with friends & my weekly therapy sessions, cried every time. I spoke to my parents, cried every time,” she said. “I went through a LOT last year (privately and publicly): a breakup 1.5 months after giving birth, postpartum/breastfeeding/pumping, adjusting to new co-parenting schedules/routines, countless lawyer meetings & calls, working through mediation/custody (which is emotional, intense and exhausting).”

“[I] was mourning the loss of who I once was while figuring out how to become a mom/my mom cadence, all while filming two back-to-back shows for 6 months straight (anyone on TV knows how intense that truly is),” she said. “Not to mention, how isolating motherhood becomes when you’re one of the 1st to have a baby in your direct friend group. I don’t have family around to support.”

Lindsay said she’s not “sitting around” while her “nanny is taking care of my child.”

“When I say I cried for 6 months, I did,” she stated. “Because that means I am owning an extremely vulnerable time in my life. … while also dealing with all of these other outside factors, and yet I never complained or spoke about being a ‘single’ mom. I said ‘we are two moms away from our kids for the 1st time in a while.’”

“While I was on that trip getting criticized for being a mom, my daughter walked across the room for the first time – which I missed,” she said. “I missed that, but thankfully my nanny sent videos.”

She then addressed Whitney’s comment directly.

“The comments that my cast mate made (whom i had just met) was when Gemma was 10 months old, in the height of it ALL for me,” she said. “And it was beyond hurtful as I was still in the middle of going through so much last year. She had no idea what I was going through and that’s okay, but it’s disappointing to put words in my mouth that I never spoke (i.e. ‘single’ mom).”

“When I say I cried – a girl who doesn’t typically admit to being that vulnerable – maybe take a minute to understand there’s more beneath the surface,” she added.
