Adam Ramsay-Peaty delivered an impressive statement at the Commonwealth Games on Friday, powering through the men’s 100m breaststroke to secure his place in the final — with his biggest supporter, pregnant wife Holly Ramsay, cheering him on from the stands.
The 31-year-old Olympic champion looked composed from the moment he stepped onto the pool deck, despite an unexpected interruption before his race. A lane rope became detached just as the swimmers were preparing to start, forcing officials to delay the event by around 10 minutes while repairs were carried out.
Once the race finally got underway, however, Adam quickly reminded everyone why he remains one of the greatest breaststroke swimmers of his generation.
Clocking the fastest qualifying time of 59.46 seconds, he comfortably won his heat before safely progressing through the semi-finals to book his place in the championship race.

The influencer, who is expecting the couple’s first child, looked delighted as she celebrated another successful performance from Adam.

“We’ve got a busy couple of weeks, so it’s about using as little energy as possible while getting through,” he explained.
