Tricia Penrose has delighted Heartbeat fans after revealing that she is now one of the new owners of The Goathland Hotel—better known to television audiences as The Aidensfield Arms, the fictional pub where Gina Ward worked throughout the series.
Sharing the exciting news on social media, the actress wrote:
“Some fantastic news to announce I’m now the proud owner, along with two local businessmen, of @thegoathlandhotel where I played Gina Ward for 18 years… The Aidensfield Arms. Watch this space—woohoo!”
The announcement immediately sparked an outpouring of excitement from loyal viewers who grew up watching the long-running ITV drama.
Many described the purchase as the perfect ending to Gina’s story, while others admitted they now have another reason to visit the famous Yorkshire filming location.

She endured the devastating death of the love of her life, survived several failed romances, and faced unimaginable tragedy after losing her premature baby just two days after giving birth.
Those emotional storylines helped make Gina one of the drama’s most memorable residents and cemented Tricia’s place in British television history.
Although Heartbeat became the defining role of her career, Tricia also appeared in several other well-known British dramas, including Brookside, Emmerdale, and Coronation Street.

She married television presenter and entrepreneur Mark Simpkin in 2003, and together they welcomed two sons, born in 2003 and 2008.

Despite the breakup, Tricia continued to keep her personal life largely away from public attention.
