Brittany Cartwright doesn’t understand why certain members of The Valley cast have held a grudge against Janet Caperna but offered grace to Danny Booko.
As Zack Wickham, 36, spoke out, insisting that the situations were not the same, and Lala Kent, 35, suspected he was acting out of a desire to be liked, Brittany suspected that there was a double standard at play and called out Zack for flip-flopping in his stance toward Janet.
“I feel like Janet has been trying to change, and it’s obvious, I think,” Brittany reasoned on the July 22 episode of The Valley: After Show. “[She’s] apologizing and really trying to, like, understand people more and think before she speaks. You know, she’s not perfect. None of us are, so she’s definitely trying.”
As The Valley fans may recall, season two resulted in a cast divide after an inebriated Danny got handsy with Jasmine Goode, 38, and Janet labeled it a sexual assault. Looking back, Brittany wondered why the group was so easy to forgive Danny, but not Janet.
“How are we so easy to forgive the man in the situation, but we can’t forgive Janet?” she asked. “She knows what she did wrong. She’s admitting that.”
Brittany also pointed to Zack’s flip-flopping.
“You’re acting like you’re okay with her one moment and then you’re still mad the next, so it’s like, what else can she do at this point?” she wondered.
As for Zack, he was upset by the comparison.
“It infuriates me when they keep saying, ’Why can’t you forgive Janet when you already have forgiven Danny?’” he admitted. “It is absolutely not the same. Number one, for me specifically, Danny hasn’t done anything to me for me to forgive. It’s my friend [Jasmine], and then if she forgives him, okay great.”
Zack then mentioned his past tiff with Lala, saying they were able to move forward after having “such a genuine conversation where she took responsibility without saying ‘but.’”
“That is how you move on and have an apology. Janet wants to say, ‘Well, I don’t feel this way but I maybe,’ no, girl, and she won’t take any responsibility and then she’s lying in her apology,” he continued.
Meanwhile, after Janet said she didn’t understand why Zack was “defending Danny so hard” and added that she hoped “Danny has Zack’s back as much as Zack has Danny’s,” Lala weighed in.
“When it comes to Zack, I sometimes worry that maybe he’s lived in the comments section where he wants to be liked because it doesn’t make any sense,” she shared.
