Adele has delighted fans with one of her most personal interviews in years, opening up about the special bond she shares with her 13-year-old son, Angelo—and revealing the surprising hobby that has transformed their relationship.

The global superstar made a rare appearance at McLaren Racing headquarters, where she met chief executive Zac Brown and Formula 1 stars Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. While the visit celebrated her growing love of motorsport, it also gave fans an intimate look at her life as a mother.

A Shared Passion That Changed Everything

Adele revealed that her love of Formula 1 began because of Angelo, whom she shares with ex-husband Simon Konecki.

She explained that her son developed a fascination with karting—a common starting point for future Formula 1 drivers—a few years ago, and she made a conscious decision to embrace his interest.

“So my son is really into karting,” Adele said. “I don’t know many teenagers who have a passion, so I’m really trying to encourage it.”

That decision unexpectedly became one of the strongest connections they’ve ever shared.

“He’s obsessed—but I’m also obsessed,” she laughed.

The singer admitted she never imagined that Formula 1 would become something she and her teenage son could enjoy together so passionately.

“You have to lean into whatever your child is interested in,” she explained. “More importantly, you have to be interested in it too.”

Now, the pair regularly debate their favorite drivers and races, something Adele says has become one of the highlights of being a mum to a teenager.

“I never expected to bond with my soon-to-be 14-year-old son over something like this,” she admitted. “We argue about drivers all the time, and it’s honestly so much fun.”

“I Don’t Sing Very Often Anymore”

During her visit, Adele also sat down for a candid conversation with Formula 1 star Lando Norris, who asked a question many fans have wondered themselves: does she still enjoy singing?

Her answer surprised many.

“I don’t sing very often anymore,” Adele admitted.
