The 40-year-old Today co-host, who announced in March that she and her husband of 13 years, Cyrus Moran, are expecting their first child together, was surrounded by loved ones during the stylish Melbourne celebration.

Held at Carlton Wine Room in her hometown, the gathering offered a glimpse into the excitement building ahead of the couple’s newest arrival. Today host Sarah Abo reveals adorable update ahead of baby's birth - Yahoo Lifestyle Australia

Sarah later reposted several moments from the event on Instagram Stories, giving followers a look at the elegant occasion.

The mum-to-be looked radiant in a flowing white long-sleeved gown paired with black heeled boots and statement silver jewellery.

The semi-sheer outfit beautifully highlighted her growing baby bump, which she proudly cradled while posing for photographs with her closest friends and family members.

Adding to the celebration’s charm were stunning white floral arrangements displayed throughout the venue.

A beautifully decorated baby shower cake featured white and pastel blue icing, a sweet tribute to the baby boy the couple is eagerly waiting to meet.

Decorated with tiny blue hearts, the cake carried the simple but meaningful message: “Oh Boy!”

Among the guests celebrating alongside Sarah was Today cultural correspondent and media personality Jack Charles, one of a select group invited to the special occasion.

The joyful event comes just months after Sarah emotionally revealed her pregnancy news live on television.

At the time, the presenter admitted that her road to motherhood had not been straightforward.

Holding back tears during the announcement, she shared that she had suffered a pregnancy loss the previous year and described the journey to becoming pregnant again as challenging.

“It’s not as easy as you, I suppose, sometimes think that pregnancy will be,” she said at the time.

“It has been a bit of a bumpy ride, but here we are, and yes, it’s getting harder to hide.”

While Sarah has not yet revealed the name she and Cyrus have chosen for their son, she previously shared that they have been affectionately referring to him as “CJ” for now.

As Sarah enters the final stage of pregnancy, attention has also turned to what will happen when she begins maternity leave from Today.

The television star recently joked on-air that reaching the third trimester has made simple tasks, including breathing comfortably, much more difficult.

Although Nine Network has yet to announce an official date for Sarah’s maternity leave or reveal who will temporarily take over her hosting responsibilities, speculation is already growing.

According to reports, Today newsreader Jayne Azzopardi has emerged as a leading contender to fill the role during Sarah’s absence.

Industry insiders have suggested that Today Extra host Sylvia Jeffreys may be considered less likely due to salary considerations and concerns regarding her on-screen dynamic with Karl Stefanovic, who is also her brother-in-law.

Jayne, meanwhile, has spent more than a decade with Nine and has held numerous roles across the network, including political reporter and Weekend Today co-host.

Media commentator Andrew Mercado recently suggested that Nine is highly likely to select Sarah’s temporary replacement from within its existing talent pool.

For now, however, Sarah’s focus remains firmly on the exciting weeks ahead as she prepares to welcome her baby boy and begin a brand-new chapter with her growing family.
