Allie Eklund claims she never asked Kacie Adkison for 20 percent of her skincare line, which uses beef tallow from ex-boyfriend Steven McBee Jr.‘s family farm, McBee Farms.
After Steven, 33, was seen suggesting the cut on Monday’s episode of The McBee Dynasty, noting that his soon-to-be-sister-in-law, Kacie, 28, was too busy to handle the orders herself, Allie, 29, set the record straight about what went down behind the scenes as she explained her decision against getting involved, opened up about her past romance with Steven, and spoke of her future children.
“What happened in real life, off camera, was I was asked to be a part of the tallow business,” Allie told Us Weekly on July 13. “I had a lot going on business wise on my own with my family’s businesses and my personal businesses that I’ve been involved in for a decade. I communicated to them that I would love to help for free in whatever capacity that I can. They needed more help, though.”
According to Allie, she wasn’t in the loop with negotiations.
“Stephen was having conversations about me getting a percentage before ever speaking with me about that,” Allie shared. “That was the first I had heard of it when they brought that to my attention, I had no idea he was asking for that behind closed doors. I never asked for that, and I actually ultimately declined that percentage because I didn’t feel like I had the capacity to take on another business venture at the moment.”
While Allie was willing to help “for free with what [she] could,” she didn’t feel that she could “bring the value that [she] wanted to at that time.”
“I ultimately chose to not get involved in the business, but I wanted to support them as a friend wherever I could,” she explained, noting that before her split from Steven, she considered creating a collection with Kacie.
Also speaking to Us Weekly, Allie said that after her sudden split from Steven, which came after she accused him of cheating, the idea of her future children was keeping her going.
“There’s nothing I miss about that relationship or look back and want again, or in the future that we had planned, because I refuse to put my kids through some of the experiences that I was experiencing behind closed doors, and that’s what — that’s the only reason why I’m able to say no,” she stated. “There were things that I was putting up with myself privately that I chose to protect him on.”
“But when I, after this has been brought to light, and I’m watching this play back and remembering, you know, some of the bad that did outweigh the good — in no world would I want my kids to experience some of the things that I did,” she continued.
Looking back on their breakup, Allie, who has denied cheating, described it as “interesting” due to Steven’s decision “to bring this to the internet.”
“If it would have been up to me, I would have protected him. And I did choose to protect him in multiple scenarios throughout our relationship, where I had found text messages and gotten messages and phone calls, and things were said to me,” she reasoned. “You know, he had said things to me and treated me a certain way, and I continued to protect him. So when he chose to bring this last fight to the internet … the vulnerability that came from that experience has ended up leading me to [a] connection with women around the world that I couldn’t have imagined.”
“There’s only so much that we can do, and we can love someone from afar,” she added. “But when it continues to happen over and over again, it’s a pattern. And I would encourage women to walk away from similar behavior. And I have, which has been crazy — that people have communicated that this has impacted them in that way, I never could have imagined that, and for that, I’m thankful for the experience.”
The McBee Dynasty season three airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.
