Alyssa Farah Griffin, co-host of The View, opened up about the terrifying ordeal she and her husband, Justin Griffin, faced this past weekend as their two-month-old son, Justin Jr., underwent major surgery. Speaking on the Behind the Table podcast, Alyssa revealed the family spent the weekend in the intensive care unit, keeping the struggle private from nearly everyone.
She shared: “My son ended up needing a major operation… I’m not going into details because I would just turn into a puddle talking about it.” Despite the fear, Alyssa expressed immense gratitude: “Thank the Lord, it went beyond well. The doctor said he’s doing even better than expected, hitting every milestone. He’s going to be great.”
Reflecting on the emotional toll, Alyssa admitted: “It was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through. I love him with every fiber of my being and would give my life for him a thousand times over.” She described the struggle of entrusting her newborn to others: “To watch a baby be helpless, but also have to entrust him into someone else’s hands… it took every amount of strength I have just to get through it all.”
From this experience, Alyssa learned two key lessons: the irreplaceable value of medical experts and the importance of leaning on her community. Her story is a raw testament to resilience, trust, and parental love in moments of unimaginable fear.
