A familiar face is preparing to say goodbye, and viewers are struggling to come to terms with the unexpected news.
Rachel Keller, one of Boston 25’s most recognizable news anchors, has announced that she will be leaving WFXT-TV later this week, bringing an important chapter of her broadcasting career to a close.
The journalist shared the announcement in a heartfelt
Facebook message, revealing that she will officially sign off from the station at the end of the month.
“After an incredible chapter, I’ll be signing off from Boston 25 at the end of this month,” Rachel wrote.
“It has been an honor to serve this community and tell the stories that matter most to New England.”
Reflecting on her years with the station, Rachel thanked viewers for welcoming her into their homes through major breaking news events, community stories, and moments of celebration.
“From breaking news to moments of celebration, I have been privileged to be welcomed into your homes each day,” she said.
“Whether late at night or bright and early in the morning, you’ve trusted me to bring you the news, and for that, I am deeply grateful.”
She added that Boston would always hold a special place in her heart and expressed appreciation to colleagues and friends who became like family during her time at the station.
“To our viewers, thank you for your support. To my colleagues and friends—many of whom have become family—thank you for making this journey so meaningful.”
While she did not reveal details about her next move, Rachel hinted that a new opportunity may already be on the horizon.
“I’m incredibly excited for what’s next and can’t wait to share more with you soon. Stay tuned!”
Rachel confirmed that her final day on air will be June 26.
The announcement quickly drew emotional reactions from viewers, many of whom admitted they were saddened by the departure.
“You’ll be sorely missed Rachel & congratulations on your new endeavor,” one supporter commented.
“Some great anchor people have left Boston 25. Best of luck to you,” another added.
Others questioned why so many familiar faces appear to be leaving the station.
“So many changes on Fox 25. Best of luck Rachel,” one viewer wrote.
Another remarked: “Fox 25 losing more people than a corn maze in the fall. What is going on there?”
Rachel has long anchored Boston 25’s weekday 5 p.m., 10 p.m., and 11 p.m. newscasts while also contributing reports for the station’s popular Wellness Wednesday segment.

Throughout her career there, she covered several major stories, including the December 2025 shooting at Brown University, the Karen Read trial, and the powerful February blizzard that impacted the region earlier this year.
Her departure comes amid a broader wave of television news exits attracting national attention.
Recently, Iowa-based NBC morning host Dustin Nolan announced his resignation live on air while criticizing what he called “sanitized news.”
Meanwhile, Good Morning America personality Janai Norman also spoke publicly about her own abrupt departure.
“I’d hoped that we’d have more time. It’s been hard on me that our time was cut short. I have loved my job,” Janai shared on Instagram.
“It has been a joy to connect with my coworkers and with viewers to help keep you informed and entertained and to create this community.”
She added that she was heartbroken not to have the chance to properly say goodbye.
“So, it really breaks my heart that I don’t get to say goodbye. I’m so sorry that I don’t get to say goodbye. It would have been fun.”
For now, Rachel Keller’s next destination remains unknown, leaving viewers wondering what exciting chapter could be waiting just around the corner.
