After more than two decades of marriage, Ben Shephard and his wife Annie proved that some love stories only grow stronger with time.
The beloved This Morning presenter stepped out with his rarely-seen wife on Thursday evening for a glamorous date night at the 2026 Raindance Film Festival in London, delighting fans with a refreshingly rare public appearance together.
A Stylish Night Out Together
Despite soaring temperatures across the UK, Ben looked effortlessly relaxed in a crisp white linen shirt paired with dark trousers, embracing the summer heat with his trademark easy-going style.
Annie, who has long preferred life away from the spotlight, looked elegant in a flowing green patterned dress, completing her sophisticated look with nude stilettos and minimal accessories. As the pair posed together on the red carpet, Annie wrapped an affectionate arm around her husband, while Ben couldn’t hide his smile as photographers captured the sweet moment.
Their appearance instantly caught attention, not only because they are rarely photographed together, but because of the genuine warmth they continue to show after more than twenty years as husband and wife.
Celebrating Film and Friendship
The couple attended the world premiere of Hannah’s Story, one of the headline screenings at this year’s Raindance Film Festival.
Joining them on the red carpet were several familiar television faces, including This Morning favourite Kate Garraway, who impressed in a belted floral dress, and former Loose Women presenter Andrea McLean, who opted for a relaxed yet chic combination of a crochet top and wide-leg trousers.
While the evening celebrated independent filmmaking, Ben and Annie’s appearance quickly became one of the most talked-about moments among fans following the event online.
A Love Story That Began Long Before Television Fame
Their latest appearance comes just months after Ben celebrated a very personal milestone.
In March, the presenter marked 22 years with Annie by sharing a nostalgic throwback photograph from the early days of their relationship.
“So 22 years ago today @mrsannieshephard said ‘oh go on then’ and that was that!” he wrote alongside the image.
Ben joked that it took him nine years to realise Annie was the woman he wanted to marry before finally proposing in Paris, one year before their wedding in 2004.
He affectionately described Annie as “the best thing to happen to me,” before teasing that only West Ham legend Mark Noble might come close.
The heartfelt post quickly attracted hundreds of supportive comments from friends and colleagues, including comedian Joel Dommett and This Morning co-host Cat Deeley, who praised the couple’s enduring relationship.
Built on Friendship and Trust
Unlike many celebrity marriages, Ben and Annie’s relationship began well before television audiences knew his name.
The couple first met while studying at the University of Birmingham, years before Ben’s successful broadcasting career took off.
Today, while millions recognise Ben as the face of programmes including This Morning, Tipping Point and The Summit, Annie has chosen a very different path, quietly building a career in interior and garden design while focusing on family life.
Ben has often credited his wife as the foundation of everything they have built together.
Speaking earlier this year, he explained that Annie supported him through every stage of his career, long before the television success arrived.
According to Ben, their greatest strength has always been their friendship.
He joked that Annie has endless patience with him, while he has learned to show equal patience whenever she comes home with another pair of shoes.
Behind the humour, however, lies genuine admiration. Ben has repeatedly described Annie as the person who created the warm, stable home that allowed both him and their sons to thrive.
Looking Ahead to a New Chapter
The couple are now preparing for another major milestone as their family enters a new phase.
Their eldest son, Sam, is studying mathematics at university, while younger son Jack is working as a teaching assistant before setting off on his travels.
With both boys becoming increasingly independent, Ben admits that he and Annie are gradually adjusting to life as empty nesters.
Although their interests are quite different—Ben enjoys sport, golf and fitness, while Annie prefers visiting gardens, galleries and exhibitions—they see this next chapter as an exciting opportunity to spend more time discovering new experiences together.
Rather than fearing the quieter house, Ben says they’re looking forward to finding fresh adventures as a couple.
Judging by their affectionate appearance at the Raindance Film Festival, that journey already seems to be off to the perfect start.
